The Meridian Leadership Team has been integral in establishing Meridian's Culture of Excellence. We're very proud of the fact that Meridian Health has been duly recognized by several prestigious organizations. Meridian was the first health organization in the nation to achieve the prestigious Magnet designation for its nursing staff at each of its partner hospitals. The Magnet Award is bestowed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to recognize facilities that provide the very best in nursing care.

In 2003 and 2009, the New Jersey Business and Industry Association presented Meridian with its Outstanding Employer of the Year award. Also in 2009, Meridian received the CEO Cancer Gold Standard Accreditation from the CEO Roundtable on Cancer, which recognizes our commitment to taking concrete actions to reduce the cancer risk of our team members and their families.

For the fourth straight year, Meridian has been nationally recognized as one of FORTUNE's "100 Best Companies to Work For". In 2005, Meridian Health earned the prestigious John M. Eisenberg Award for Patient Safety and Quality, a national award bestowed by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the National Quality Forum (NQF). Both Jersey Shore University Medical Center and Riverview Medical Center received the J.D. Power and Associates Distinguished Hospital Award in early 2006. Since 2009, Riverview has been seven-times distinguished by J.D Power and Associates. Jersey Shore University Medical Center was further honored by being named the recipient of the Governor's Award for Performance Improvement at the bronze level. We were also named by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine as one of the nation's 100 Most Wired Health Systems.
